PIXEL ART BREAK, DEVELOPING AN IDEA THROUGH LEARNING!

Time to try something different, I decided, instead of programming, to try my luck at some drawing again.

CAVE ADVENTURE GIRL

A bit of a different blog post today. Instead of developing something with my current programming skills, I decided to take a little break and try my hand at some pixel art.

I don’t have a huge amount to share yet, but I’ve at least finished a complete animation cycle that feels good enough to show off, especially since I plan to leave it as it is for now.

The basic idea behind this character is that I’ve been thinking about making a cave exploration adventure game with a female lead, inspired by characters like Samus and Lara Croft. So far, I have a front-facing design and a running animation. I’m really happy with what I’ve drawn, but I’m going to pause here for now while I reflect and wait for fresh inspiration on where to take it next.

At the end of the day, that’s kind of the point of this blog: I want to share my game development journey, but also my other creative projects and learning experiences along the way.
