Mirror Planet is a Web3, location-based mobile game available for iOS and Android in Pre-Alpha through Apple TestFlight and Google Play Store. I worked on Mirror Planet as a part of my employment with SavySoda. The project is developed using Unity, and I worked as one of the main client developers, working on Programming, Game Design, UI & UX and Community Moderation.
Mirror Planet (Along with Millionaire Tycoon: World) is one of the first professional projects I have worked on as a games developer as part of my work at the studio SavySoda. I've worked on this project from the pre-development stages, working with a small team of great people and getting a real taste of how game development works inside the Australian games industry.
I've spent two years living and breathing Mirror Planet, learning more about Unity than ever before, especially in the Unity UI System! Along with a greater understanding of Unity, I also experienced working on a multi-platformed mobile release for iOS and Android, working from the development side of cryptocurrency with my work on an on-chain wallet, and I got a taste for games design, helping come up with features and new directions.
My role at SavySoda was as one of the main client developers working on Mirror Planet and Millionaire Tycoon: World, spending my day-to-day fixing bugs, updating UI and adding new features.
As this project is still in early development, I can't talk about the specific details of the development process, but I will try and give an idea of what I worked on in each area of the project.
